“The Vermeer” on West 4th in Vancouver, British Columbia has been featured in the recent Building Stone Institute Spring 2015 issue! The article walks through the history of the high-end multi-use building focused on incorporating classical architecture and natural stone into a neighborhood dominated by contemporary glass buildings. Red Leaf Stone supplied over 136 tons of Indiana limestone for the project for both exterior and interior applications. Architectural Stonemasonry (a division of Red Leaf Group) fully detailed and fabricated the entire exterior and handcrafted unique elements including family crests and medallions prominently displayed at the face of the building. A custom Garibaldi Blue Marble fireplace highlighting the Dutch lineage of the family development company, Thomas Properties, was also traditionally carved for the Penthouse. Installation was performed by Sun Valley Masonry.
